14-day Leisure and Classic Tour in North and South Island of New Zealand


Day 1: Auckland

Go sightseeing in the city of Auckland, after arriving in largest sailing capital of New Zealand' and picked up by the guide at the airport: climb the highest peak in the city, Mount Eden to see remains of the crater and overlook the port of Whitemount, with all of the city's beautiful scenery in you’s eyes; Harbor Bridge, the city commercial district of Queen Street, Princes Wharf and Angel Bay. Check in the hotel after dinner.

Day 2: Auckland - Hobbit (2hr50min, 200km) - Taupo (2hr10min, 163km) - Rotorua (1hr10min, 80km)

Today, proceed from Auckland by bus and head for south to the shooting site of Hobbit Villages in the movie The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit in the central North Island to experience the stunning movie scene. Walk through the places where characters have gyou like Hobbit House, Party Tree, Green Dragon Bar, Hobbit village to experience the unique village in depth. After lunch, go to Lake Taupo, New Zealand's largest lake, and you can enjoy the famous Wyla Geothermal Power Station, Lake Falls and etc. You can also take a jet boat ride to visit Taupo at you’s own expense. Then arrive in Rotorua, Maori town and geothermal capital. Visit the Rotorua Government Gardens, where you can stroll along the lake to enjoy the beautiful scenery and the unique atmosphere of Rotorua. After dinner, have a bath in the world's top 10 Polynesian hot springs, so you can relieve you’s fatigue and relax youself.
    
Day 3: Rotorua - Auckland (3hr20min, 234km)

After breakfast, you will be brought to Agrodome to watch sheep shearing performances and participate in fun pasture mini-tours, then take a special ranch car to contact in close proximity with lovely animals and feed them by hand. After lunch, visit the Maori Culture Village with rich regional characteristics to explore the unique Maori culture; and enjoy the spectacular intermittent geothermal fountain and the mud pool and hot spring pool with temperature above 100C. Then return to Auckland.

Day 4: Auckland - Paihia (3hr20min, 236km)

After breakfast, head north to Paihia full of tropical passions at the heart of many islands. After lunch, you can visit the of the Waitangi Signing Memorial with historic significance at you’s own expense to understand New Zealand's founding history of Maori’s signing with the British. Then take a ferry ride across the sea to visit New Zealand's first capital Russell, town with a long history. The city is very quiet everywhere, together with a large number of berths in the harbor, so you will enjoy the unique style of the island harbor.

Day 5: Paihia - Ninety Mile Beach (1hr30min, 107km) - Cape Raga (1hr40min, 116km) - Paihia (3hr10min, 223km)

After breakfast, take the luxury bus of the foreign company to the Ninety Mile Beach facing the Tasman Sea. On its way lies the Millennium Forest, where you can see the world's tallest and oldest trees when walking through forest paths and short paths. When you reaches Ninety Mile Beach, which is next to the Bay of Islands, take a limousine bus on a stretch of sandy beaches. It is spectacular to see while the bus is moving on the soft sand, water on both sides of the wheel splashes. At the end of the beach is a huge sand dune, indulged in which, you will seem to walk into the desert. Climbing the sand dune is a must-do activity here. After a delicious Western buffet lunch, head for the northernmost lighthouse of Cape Raga to see the magnificent landscape of the intersect of the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean while standing at the northernmost corner of the Cape.

Day 6: Paihia - Hole in the Rock - Auckland (3hr20 min, 236km)

After breakfast, take the luxury cruise ship to enjoy the tour of New Zealand's largest marine park and visit the famous Hole in the Rock; one will have the opportunity to play with dolphins which like to be close to human beings, and if lucky, there may be chances to see whales and walrus. After lunch, return to Auckland to end your joyous tour in North Island!

Day 7: Auckland - Christchurch – Lake Tekapo

After breakfast, transfer to the airport, return the rented car and take a flight to Christchurch. Christchurch is one of the richest British–style cities in the South Pacific. You can enjoy this beautiful garden city. After a short break, visit Canterbury Museum, Avon River, Memorial Bridge. After lunch, visit Antarctic Center. Then drive to Lake Tekapo, spend the night at the hotel by the lake and watch the pure and vast star seas in the world-famous star watching protection point.

Day 8:Lake Tekapo - Mount Cook National Park


After breakfast, visit the Shepherd Church, and before finishing the tour of the Lake Tekapo, head for salmon farms of five-star export quality in the southern hemisphere to enjoy the world's highest-altitude salmon sashimi meal.

Head for New Zealand's highest mountain, Mount Cook, to feel its magnificent beauty. After lunch, participate in the glacial lake cruise activities  (Glacier explorers tour of 2.5 hours), and have a close contact with the glacier and other special landforms.

Day 9: Cook Mountain National Park - Wanaka - Queenstown

After breakfast, proceed to New Zealand's fourth largest lake, Lake Wanaka. Surrounded by the magnificent Southern Alps, one will be immersed in the hideaway idyllic paradise in Lake Wanaka. Then go to the Maze World of Stuart Lansberg. This is the only theme park in the world that is full of quirky content, where one will be immersed in this wonderful labyrinthine world, allowing one to develop your intellect and spend a wonderful and happy time.

Day 10: Wanaka - Arrowtown - Queenstown

After lunch, leave Wanaka for Queenstown, and go through the fruit town of Clovelle and the birthplace of the bouncing bridge, where one can enjoy excitement of high-altitude bounce and challenge the self-limit experience at their own expense. Then head for the Arrow Town, a gold rush flushing town bustling with noise in the past. Walking along the Arrow River, one will feel the lives of thousands of Chinese miners with ancient buildings standing on both sides of the street. Arrive in the evening to take the Peak Tram, climb Bob Peak to admire Queenstown views and enjoy a sumptuous dinner buffet at the top of the hill. In the evening, arrive at Queenstown known as the world-class honeymoon town. The guide will bring you visit the wonder of the world, Wakatipu Lake, to experience a dreamlike romantic atmosphere. In the evening take the Peak Tram and climb Bob’s Peak to admire Queenstown views, and enjoy a sumptuous dinner buffet at the top of the hill.

Day 11:  Queenstown - Greenwich- Queenstown

In the Oscar-winning film Lord of the Rings, there are over 150 spectacular scenes across New Zealand, you of which is Greenwich. Drive from Queenstown to Green Norwich, a distance of only 45-minute drive, in the middle of which you will pass the magnificent Isengard fortress. You can join the Dart River wild adventure tour. Dart River Jet Boat will combine the beautiful World Heritage Scenic Area with exciting and thrilling river jet boat, exploring in Maori sites, meeting characters in the Lord of the Rings and exciting adventure activities, so as to bring a unique combination experience. After lunch, you will go to airport accompanied by the guide to end your Queenstown tour. It is free to visit Queenstown after lunch. Then take the TSS classical steam boat of nearly a hundred years to visit Wakatipu Lake. Then arrive in Walter farm of Lake Island to enjoy the royal buffet dinner specially arranged in the farm.

Day 12  Queenstown - Milford Sound - Te Anau

After breakfast, drive to the world’s wonder Milford Sound. The road to Milford Sound is known as you of highland roads with the best wonderful scene in the world. The road each side is covered with the original rainforest of cold temperate zyou in New Zealand, passing through the largest natural grassland Eglinton Valley, Mirror Lake, Knobs Flat, Homer Tunnel of 1.27 km in length, and etc. Milford Sound is a miracle of nature, a deep canyon due to the ice movement and cutting two million years ago. Sail in the cruise silently, having buffet while enjoying spectacular views along the way. You can see waterfall venting down on both sides of the snow mountain. In a very close place of the waterfall, you can feel cold feeling brought by the snow fog. Here, in addition to the natural wonders, you also may see seals, penguins in a lose distance. If lucky, you can also see the dolphins saying hello to you while swimming on both sides of the ship! After embarking, you will head for Te Anau.

Day 13: Te Anau - Dunedin - Oamaru

After breakfast in the hotel, head for Dunedin known as Edinburgh South. Because the entire city buildings is in the typical Scottish style, the city still retains a rich Scottish atmosphere so far. Upon arrival, visit the beautiful University of Otago, the gingerbread-like train station, the church and the world's steepest street, Baldwin Street, in the world record. You may pass Maori styou beach, where, according to Maori legend, these odd-shaped rock rolled out as the fruit when the great naval vessel of Arred Oulu sank by the shore a thousand years ago. In the habitat of blue-eyed penguins of Oamaru, you may appreciate the fun of the smallest penguins of the world homing. After dark, they will swim to the shore below the stands, and back to the habitat over the viewing area. In the evening, enjoy Maori-style rock barbecue buffet dinner.

Day 14: Oamaru - Christchurch

After breakfast, proceed from Oamaru, along the beautiful eastern coast all the way north and enjoy the picturesque scenery along the way. Arrive Christchurch at noon to return the leased car, and then return by plane, ending 14 days of a pleasant trip to the South and North Island of New Zealand.
